Lindsey Meredith - Interview/Jan |
 | Lindsey! How are things going? Things are going great. I have been super busy finishing up the beginning stages of starting my own business as a solo graphic designer and illustrator. The name is Link Creative. I have been freelancing on the side of full-time graphic design work for a few years but recently decided to take the plunge, pursue my dreams, and see where my passion will take me. I feel great about it and I am super excited. I have been getting a lot accomplished but still have a lot to do! I am finishing up my new website right now and cannot wait to get it up here soon. www.link-creative.com
How did you get started in design? I have always loved drawing and always seemed to have a knack for it. I was the kid in school that was always doodling on their papers, and excelling in art class. With that said it was easy for me to know what I wanted to do for a career. I am so passionate about not just being able to use my artistic abilities in my career but also to help people market there business visually with success. In pursuing my career in design I discovered I had a strong passion for Logo design and illustration. I have found it is my specialty. I am a true believer in the importants of a strong identity presence to help companies succeed in reaching their market.
Does the state of the economy have any effect on you as an artist? You know, I cannot comment on that too much because as I had said I am still in the beginning stages. I will say that for the fact that I have not yet been marketing myself officially, I am still managing to stay fairly busy while finishing up my website and so on. From others that I am involved with, some say they are feeling it, other say it is actually boosting their business. Over all, I just know that we all need to keep hope and believe in what we are passionate about. Things will come around.
How would you describe your style? I am not sure how to describe my style as I really try to be open and diverse to meet the needs of diverse clients. I am always keeping my eyes open taking in everything so I can be inspired and broaden my style range so to speak. I do have a weakness for urban style lettering and graphic elements so I think that can be seen in some of my work. I do a lot of my own lettering from scratch. I love doing funky lettering that intertwine/flow, coming up with crazy characters, using thick lines, and organic textures.
What's in the future for you? I am hopeful and confident in a future that consists of me expressing my creative passion through graphic design and illustration to help companies and organization find success in their visual presence. I want to keep learning and growing in so many ways so can continue to provide cutting edge and true custom design for for years to come. I am so excited for the future of Link Creative as I know I have so much to offer.
