| My name is Jon Hickley and I am a Flash/Motion graphics designer who completed my BA in Graphic Communication at Bath Spa University in 2007 with First class honours.
I possess a strong eye for detail and a passion for creating interesting interactive experiences and motion graphic sequences, as well as having strong Flash actionscript skills. Since I completed my degree I have worked on a wide range of design projects from broadcast motion graphics work to commercial flash websites. A couple of the companies I have worked for since leaving university are Big Squid a Bristol based Motion graphics company, and Future Publishing a leading new Media/Publishing company based in Bath. At both these companies I got to work on some exciting projects for example, while at Big Squid I worked on Small Talk Diaries a television series about the lives of insects, which won the Innovation award at the Wild screen festival in 2008. For this project we at Big Squid were responsible for compositing and creating the graphics. Not only did I work on motion graphics for broadcast but also presentation videos for various companies who wanted more than just a power point presentation to show their clients. In 2008 I started to work for Future Publishing’s Multimedia studio and worked on a wide range of projects, which involved many different media. Here I developed my Flash skills and was able to pick up actionscript 3. At Future I worked with many high profile brands creating flash advertising and micro sites for them. I was also responsible for creating the graphics for several big award ceremonies, one of which was the T3 gadget awards 2009 which was hosted by Johnny Vaughan. I am currently living on the South coast of England near Southampton and available to work at home on any Flash or Motion graphics needs you may have. |
