| NAME:
James Horvath LOCATION: Oceano, California EXPERIENCE: I've been a professional illustrator since 1991. I worked as a senior designer for a large corporation and as an art director for a medium to small ad agency for about eight years. Since 1999, I've been a freelance artist. In 2002 I started Jamestoons Studios to focus more on illustration and to work on my own children's books. I still do quite a bit of design work for some clients. I enjoy the challenge of working in many different and diverse industries. STAFF: Me INFLUENCES: I'm fortunate to do what I really enjoy doing. I've always drawn and have been inspired by art of all types. I've taken classes at various colleges and independent art houses. There are too many amazing illustrators and artist who's work I admire to list here. I truly enjoy finding inspiration in new and unusual places. ENVIRONMENT: I work in a small single room studio that I can walk to from my house. I have a large lighted drawing table, a couple of guitars and a brand new MAC G5 quad-core tower with a 23 inch studio display and a Wacom Cintiq tablet. Lots of pencils and erasers. |
