After graduating with a degree in Illustration in 2007 I initially worked for the successful illustrator Emma Thomson as an assistant, an experience which gave me a valuable insight into the world of children's book illustration and publishing. I then joined The Bright Agency in 2009 and have been working freelance as an illustrator since, mainly in the area of children's books.
Many, many things influence my work, from 1950s animation to antique furniture to my slight obsession with baking! I love collecting reference to inform my illustrations and enable me to add interesting, unique details. I always endeavor to effectively use colour and design to make each piece of work engaging for the viewer and recognisable as one of my own. Having a job that means I can spend my days being creative and using my imagination is fabulous!
