| Operating as Boundless Creativity since 1994, Big Al Gruswitz has specialized in 3D and 2D photorealistic illustration, medical illustration, plus difficult retouching. (See retouching sample before & afters under "Video/Flash" tab.)
Boundless Creativity’s clients are predominately advertising agencies within New York City, New Jersey, and Chicago, but projects have been produced for companies throughout the U.S. and Canada. People are often surprised that the wide variety of samples have been produced by one person. This can be attributed to the fact that Big Al was an art director most of his long career in advertising. With 46 years experience in advertising, Big Al has held staff positions as an art director and associate creative director at several major agencies including Campbell Ewald (Chevrolet) and Saatchi & Saatchi (Duncan Hines, Tide, Crisco Oil and Shortening, Pert Shampoo, Tylenol, Slim Fast, Dexatrim, New York Life, and others). At Saatchi, Big Al started the Consumer Division at their medical agency, Klemtner Advertising (now Saatchi Healthcare), where he won the inaugural account, Rogaine. He was responsible for the consumer, medical, and international launch of that brand. Art directors find it a positive experience to work with an illustrator and retoucher who thinks like an art director. He understands the concepts they're trying to communicate. He works with them to make sure the art does everything it can to enhance their concept. Art directors will often consult with Big Al to determine what would be the best method of production when multiple disciplines are needed to complete a project. Big Al is available for both comp and finished art. Big Al has won numerous awards for creative excellence and high readership as an art director as well as awards for his illustrations. He has written articles on retouching and illustration. |
