Then I edited the it with masks, layer blending and other filter options and then I added the a few shadows, a background, with a LOT of layers to finish it off. It took me a week to decide what I was going to do with it and 3 days-start to finish to keep adding to it and I finally got "East Coast Empire Terror"
(Larger image is in my portfolio) Now that that is finished, I have a few more projects to be starting on real soon, including another joint design with Rahadian so I'll post it up when that one is complete.
I like his music but I'm not a huge fan of Jay-Z, but his recent album “Blueprint 3” is currently playing at the top of my iPod's playlist. I prefer the likes of Ludacris, T.I., OutKast... what can I say, I loves me some of that ATL/South music! But I can't tell you how good of an album this is for me to listen to while creating designs or illustrations. I'm into ANY type of music to be honest and I'll try to post a few recommended song or an album that I've come across in life. Maybe it will be something I'm listening to at the time...
Speaking of listening music to, in the moment: I also like Tegan and Sara! Love them for the great music that they produce. I found out about them about 2 years ago now and they are the one's for making my day-along with a list of other artists. Not only are they a pair of comedians (their on-stage banter is really good!) a lot of respect goes out to those artists who play their own instruments as well as write their own songs-there is a long list of them too. I've always wondered who does the Artwork for albums of musicians (I've never really read too much into the sleeves that come with some of the album) but I know that Emy Storey did some Artwork on "The Con" for Tegan and Sara, which looks great!
This week I have started my PGCE to do Design & Technology at secondary school level. Didn't ever think I would ever become a teacher and some how that has become a little closer to becoming a reality this week.
Been asking myself what kind of teacher I would be and cant ever see myself being a strict teacher, however my 9 month old puppy makes me wonder. When he is naughty I become unbelievably strict with him :) ... so think I will be a well strict teacher and not realise how strict until someone will comment .
Who knows only time will tell ..
This is one of the last thing I have been working on, how to work with masks in Adobe Photoshop CS4. There are many ways to use layers-as you may know and it's good to see the advance Adobe has made in their software to include features like these. I found an Aeroplane and a background wallpaper design on the internet for this demonstration. My first encounter with Photoshop correction was working with difficult backgrounds when importing pictures, like the ones with white backgrounds. What I would do is use the eraser tool and zoom in and out a LOT, to rub out the edges, which alters the original picture. But the masking layer effect does not alter the image and it works so much better! Here is what I did.
